The Lucy Show

Mr. Mooney tells Lucy, once again, that she must economize, so Lucy advertises for a roommate to help with the expenses. A shy, frumpy librarian, Carol Bradford, with odd personality quirks answers the ad and soon gets on Lucy's nerves.

Lucy is pleased that Carol moves in, but is less than overjoyed at the newcomer's personal habits and incredible shyness. Lucy and Mary Jane scheme to nudge Carol out of her emotional shell.

They intend to get her a social life, and out of the house, by throwing a party to introduce her to some men. After just a couple of drinks, Carol goes from mild to a wild party animal.

Special Notes: This is the first of many over the following six years, gig for the two redheads. There is an obvious affection between them. Lucille had been an early booster of Burnett's, and considers her a protegee.
