When Lucy reads that Phil Harris is forming a new orchestra and is looking for talent, she brings to him all the unemployed musical talent from the Unique Employment Agency.
It so happens that most of these are minority performers, and hiring them gains Harris publicity. When the women's liberation movement pickets him for not hiring a woman, Phil hires Lucy as his vocalist.
Special Notes: Marl Young plays himself as the African-American pianist that Lucy brings to Phil Harris. Lucille had always been in the forefront of minority rights and integrating her casts and crew, but this is the first time a script really makes mention of minorities.
