The Lucy Show

In need of money, Lucy takes a temporary job as secretary to Mr. Miller, the president of a large recording company. Coincidentally, Lucy's neighbor Mel Tinker is a songwriter who needs a contract. His song is rejected by Lucy's new boss because it isn't hip since the current fad is tear-jerker rock and roll music.

Mel and Lucy write a new song about a surfer who's eaten by a shark on his wedding day. Lucy arranges for him and her to perform his now revamped numbers as the Tear Ducts on the youth-oriented television program, Wing Ding.

Mel performs "Whatever Happened to the Moon?" and (with Lucy as the Tear Ducts), "My Trousseau Just Lies on the Shelf" and the "Wing Ding" theme.
