The Lucy Show

Doting mother hen Lucy is heartbroken as her "baby" son Jerry goes off to military school. The school forbids parents from seeing their children for the first two weeks, but that means nothing to Lucy.

She tries to visit him before visitor's day and is rebuffed. Her scheme to bring Jerry a birthday cake never makes it past the colonel's office, so she swipes a uniform and masquerades as an upperclassman cadet.

She sneaks onto the ground to blend in with the others and gets into all sorts of mischief. She soon finds out the obstacle course proves more than she can handle.

Special Notes: Jerry will eventually be sent off to military school permanently when the series moves its locale to Los Angeles in 1965 (Season 4). Child actor, Stephen Talbot (who, along with Lee Aaker, plays a cadet) is the son of veteran actor, Lyle Talbot.

Bloopers: Jackie Coogan plays an instructor who is listed in the credits as "Lt. Ruggles" even though he wore the stripes of a Master Sergeant, the appropriate rank for an instructor at a military academy.
