The Lucy Show

The bank sends Lucy and Mr. Mooney to Bancroft, a small town where the financial institution is loaning the mayor money and bankrolling a new freeway right down the middle of Main Street.

Lucy joins locals in protesting the destruction of the tiny town, slated to be ruined by the freeway and doesn't realize Mooney is behind the deal. Lucy's neighbor Mel Tinker is in town, and he and the townsfolk convince Lucy and Mooney that the freeway project will ruin the gentle little town.

Special Notes: This the first of a two-part episode. Mel Torme makes his second appearance as Mel Tinker, the first was in episode #87, "Lucy in the Music World". Dancer, John Sublett as John Bubbles is the first billed African-American guest star on a Lucille Ball series.
