I LOVE LUCY

For their thirteenth wedding anniversary, Lucy buys Ricky a set of golf clubs and he presents her with stone marten furs, but their real wish is spending the anniversary alone at home where Lucy has a candle-lit dinner planned.

The Mertzes, on the other hand, have arranged a surprise party for them, and when Ethel asks Lucy where they'll be that night, Lucy quickly concocts a dinner meeting with Rodgers and Hammerstein.

As the party guests start arriving, Lucy and Ricky move their champagne dinner into the hall closet. Finally, they manage to divert the guests' attention so they can slip out the front door and make a proper grand entrance, "surprised."

Special Notes: This episode was filmed just two weeks after Lucy was feted with a surprise thirteenth wedding anniversary party at Mocambo by Desi. When Lucy and Ricky are looking through their photo album, the pictures are from Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz's personal collection except the picture of Fred and Ethel. Real pictures of a younger William Frawley and a younger Vivian Vance were combined.
