I Love Lucy

The romantic shipboard atmosphere, coupled with the fresh sea air, has rekindled the Mertzes' twenty-five year long marriage. Ethel: "the love bug has bitten my Freddie." Lucy is a little jealous; she and Ricky have been unable to spend any time together because of his band commitment.

Understanding his wife's loneliness, Ricky suggests she sign up for some tournaments in the hopes of meeting new friends. Lucy asks the ship's social director to find her a Ping-Pong partner, but he has trouble finding someone single "since there are mostly couples." Lucy: "With everyone paired off, I'm surprised the ship isn't called the S.S. Noah's Ark!"

A partner finally materializes, Kenneth Hamilton, and he is, indeed, single. Unfortunately, he's also only elementary school age. The precocious youngster becomes Lucy's constant companion (they win the Ping-Pong championship) and even dances with her in the Boat n' Bottle Bar that night.

Desperate for some time to spend with Ricky, Lucy plots to "kidnap" him the next evening. While he is dressing for the show, Lucy locks their stateroom door and tosses the key through the porthole to Ethel. But much to Lucy's surprise, Ricky has managed to get the night off, planning an entire evening of dining and dancing.

In a frantic effort to locate Ethel, Lucy sticks her head through the porthole and then finds she's unable to free herself. It takes men with acetylene torches to free Lucy, but Ricky still manages a romatic serenade.

Special Notes: When Ethel and Fred come up and Ricky is trying to explain that Lucy is stuck, first Ricky says "She's stuck!" Then Ethel with "She's stuck?". Right before Fred delivers his line, you hear someone off stage yell out "Yeah, she's stuck!" Possibly someone in the audience.
