When the stereo Lucy buys for Craig's birthday turns out to be defective and she tries to return it to the store but they won't accept it back. Lucy finds out that the manufacturer, PU (Prime Ultrasonics), makes it almost impossible for customers to get satisfaction.
With the help of the store clerk (Charles Nelson Reilly) who sold her the set, and others who have been duped by the firm, Lucy leads a protest at the company's stockholders' meeting.
Special Notes: When Lucy asks for complaints and Mrs. Portnoy stands up this is in reference to Philip Roth's 1969 novel "Portnoy's Complaint".
