The Lucy Show

Lucy dates yet another athlete, this time golfer Gary. She lies about her expertise in playing golf and in reality, she hasn't any idea of how the game is played. To be near her golf-nut boyfriend, she takes lessons to keep up with him. After just six lessons, with a handicap of 36, she remains a terrible golfer.

This doesn't prevent her from playing. Gary is to play in a tournament with professionals, Jimmy Demaret and Bo Wininger, whom Lucy has never heard of. Lucy ends up being Gary's partner. Her playing so unnerves the pros, that she and Gary end up winning.

Special Notes: This is golf legend Jimmy Demaret's second Lucy appearance. He also appeared in the episode that this is based in part, I Love Lucy episode #96, "The Golf Game". This is Lucy's real-life husband, Gary Morton's first appearance on a "Lucy" sitcom. It is discussed making him a permanent part of the cast as Lucy's boyfriend, but it never happens.
