Lucy and the Runaway Butterfly

The Lucy Show

Jerry has to get a rare white butterfly for his school project, and Lucy promises to help him. The hunt is soon on for the butterfly when Lucy allowed it to escape while helping Jerry with his collection.

After accidentally letting it go, she upsets a fancy dinner date with a lawyer as she leaps into action when she thinks she spots the rogue insect, resulting in chaos at dinner, the park, and eventually a court room trial while trying to recapture it.

Special Notes: There was no actual butterfly on the set. Lucy had to swing into the air and the butterfly was optically inserted later. Although the characters names were given as Jack and Pauline Donohue in the end credits, neither's first name was mentioned in the episode. Jack Donohue is the name of the series' director.
