The Lucy Show

Lucy is a contestant on The Art Linkletter Show, and promises to remain completely silent for twenty-four hours to win $200. Linkletter assigns and audience member, Ruth Cosgrove to chaperone Lucy to ensure she is faithful to her promise and remains silent.

Ruth's really a plant from the show, hired by Linkletter, who tries her best to make Lucy scream, as are the one-armed "fugitive" and cop who shoot it out in her apartment, and the guy in the gorilla suit that attacks her. Mr. Mooney, unaware of the reason for Lucy's silence, concludes she has an emotional problem and tries to shock her out of it.

Special Notes: This episode brings back Doris Singlton who hasn't appeared with Lucy since 1956 on I Love Lucy, episode #166, "Lucy and Superman". She looks better and blonder than she had on the original series. The age difference between Lucille and the younger Doris is now obvious.
