The Lucy Show

Lucy and her banker Mr. Barsdahl have a falling out, so Lucy closes her account. Instead of a check for $20, the bank gives Lucy a check for $2,000 just minutes after Mr. Barnsdahl had declared that his bank was perfect and never makes a mistake.

To force Mr. Barnsdahl into admitting they'd made a mistake, Lucy cashes the check and hides the money in a candy box to teach the banker a lesson. Unfortunately, Harry gave the box of candy to the youngsters to take to the carnival, and now everyone frantically tries to recapture the bills.

Special Notes: The basic plot of this entry was adapted for a children's book that was published about that time by Whitman Press called "Lucy and the Madcap Mystery" by Cole Fannin. This episode introduces Charles Lane as banker, Mr. Barnsdahl. Although Lane is a veteran of many Lucy appearances, he is not a success on this series (Lane has trouble remembering his lines) and before long his character will be written out.

Bloopers: Throughout the entire carnival scene, the elephant trainer is visible behind the elephant's left front leg.
