Jimmy and Sally are soon to be wed. Jimmy, an interior decorator, has a job in the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell, an old schoolmate of Sally's.

While there, Rudolfo, an irate South American, arrives threatening to kill Elizabeth if she will not marry him unless she can prove that she is happily married.

With Mr. Campbell away, Elizabeth has Jimmy pose as her husband. All is well until Sally shows up. Jimmy is introduced to her as Elizabeth's husband, which nearly makes her go away with Rudolfo, who has transferred his affection from Elizabeth to Sally.

When the real Mr. Campbell returns, Jimmy drops the pretense, knocks out Rudolfo, and wins Sally back.

Special Notes: So and Sew was second in a trio of shorts Lucille made in between Bunker Bean ahd her bit in Winterset, in June 1936, the same time she was appearing in newspapers because of her rumored engagement to Broderick Crawford.
