Margo and Ted think Lucy and Curtis are spoiling the kids, Becky and Kevin. Curtis is helping Kevin build a tree house, giving him treats before dinner; and Lucy keeps buying Becky clothes and presents along with Kevin.
Lucy overhears Ted and Margo discussing the situation. Lucy goes up the tree into the tree house with Curtis to discuss the matter. Unaware that Kevin's Walkie Talkie is in the tree house, Lucy and Curtis agree that they must move out of the house. Kevin overhears them and removes the ladder until they change their minds.
Ted and Margo make up and take the kids to Griffen Park to ride the Merry-go-Round. Lucy and Curtis are trapped in the tree house, and when it starts to rain, decide that they will stay. Just then, Ted and Margo arrive home, when Kevin remembers he removed the ladder. They all end up in the Tree House singing, "I'm singing in the Rain".
