I Love Lucy

The second segment of a two-part show starring Tennessee Ernie Ford opens with Cousin Ernie finding in the hallway a "planted" one-way bus ticket back to Bent Fork, his hometown.

This was the Ricardos' infallible scheme to get rid of the unwanted guest. But being a good samaritan, Ernie tries to locate the ticket's rightful owner, which just happens to be the first person he approaches.

Lucy's next infallible plan is to pretend that she and Ricky are penniless and can't afford to buy food, something Ernie has a special host of a variety show, "Millikan's Chicken mash Hour," that awards two-hundred-dollar talent prizes. Cousin Ernie rounds up his "cousins" the Ricardos and Mertzes, dresses them like country bumpkins, and goes on the air as "Ernie Ford and His Four Hot Chicken Pickers" singing "Y'all Come."

With his share of the winnings, Ernie buys a ticket back to Bent Fork, and the Ricardo household returns to "normal."
